Lesson 1: 1. Students will participate in the class activity by putting their data in the class chart. 2. Students will complete a worksheet where they calculate ratios of their own experiment and the ratios of Mendel’s experiment.
Lesson 2: 1. Students will create character drawings based on the letters that they each threw and if their characters were accurately colored according to the letters.
2. Students will complete a worksheet that allow them to apply their understanding of dominant and recessive traits along with inheritance. Lesson 3: 1. The quiz at the beginning of the lesson will assess what they have learned in the first two lessons.
2. Students will create their own pedigree.
Lesson 4: 1. Students will complete a worksheet for their trait codes as well as a worksheet with the offspring that they created from their classmate’s code.
Lesson 5: 1. Students will fill out an exit slip based on what their group got done in class. 2. The final presentation of this project will be the summative assessment that will be used for the three lessons that go into having the students come up with the final product
